here are examples of stylish Kiddles
Mums who dress their children in a style that coordinates with them has not got a word to describe it - The idea came to me when I thought of the Kooples brand for adult couples who dress and coordinate well style wise - so I have just made one up for mums and their kids- Kiddle - the dictionary definition of a kiddle is an old fashioned fishing net - so Kiddle is appropriate and related - see my main blog for more on this.
yes i will patent it….as my idea! - no I am not joking.

I love this image by photographer Emma Hardy…the styling detail is perfect, it captures the magic kids bring to the festive season. to see more of her work look at my previous post…..
The Christmas season is for kids…Food, family, Friends and unpretentious Fun are the essential ingredients for a good Yule Tide. These photographs by Emma Hardy for the Telegraph Food and Drink magazine capture these aspirations…… I love these images, the styling detail is perfect - I especially like the shot of the 4 children sitting in bed surrounded by baubles in the trees whilst they scoff chocolates. These images have achieved the almost impossible and made me feel festive !
I absolutely love the cheeky and quirky image stella has created for her kids brand. There is a no fuss, rock n roll irreverence about the way the children have been styled and photographed in a straight laced way and then in a playful alternative.
check out the link….put your mouse over the ’ shop this look’ and another cheeky image comes up

Monsoon Kids Photography a winner…These shots come from the Autumn / Winter brand catalogue in stores now….I have picked my favourite shots - hard to choose as they are all good….
Is the brain child of leading children’s luxury etailer Alex and Alexa who launched a virtual Kids Fashion Week running at the same time as the adult Fashion week in London this September on their website high lighting trend themes and featuring designers such as Stella McCartney, Dior, Junior Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel enfant.
Apparently there has been alot of interest in developing this concept into a real live not virtual London Kids fashion Week for the top end designer brands to show case their increasingly profitable childrenswear collections as well as new emerging high end kids brands.
My take on this is that it would be a great idea…. as long as the event is made to be fun and engaging for the children taking part…..and not just an mini version of an Adult Fashion Week. For best results the event should be based around a theme that can hold the event together - or a series of mini events each day which would fit in with the different range of brands image and trends focus for that season.

British Mens Preppy brand Hackett launched a ‘mini me’ collection this season - basing their collection on the traditional style of men’s heritage tailoring it has found a niche for small boys whose mothers want them to wear cache clothing like Dad. I like the photography here for Hackett Spring Summer 2011- Anyone for tennis?

Here we have Ralph Lauren Kids on Via Della Spiga in Milan. Classic references to the heritage status of this all American old money brand are reflected in the visual merchandise display in the window. Ralph Lauren represents aspirational America.

This Burberry window is in Via Della Spiga Milan. The lambasted Burberry check UK side reigns supreme in Continental Europe and the far East. The brand is expanding it’s retail offering extensively in the Far East in particular recognising that the new rich in China want to buy into British heritage brands and the more conspicuous they are the better.
Think the 1980’s here in the UK where it was all about ‘the look of money ’ and conspicuous consumption. The Chav reference of the Burberry check is still not fully healed here in the UK where we are still not comfortable being seen in it.
Burberry at vast expense has bought back control of the licensing of the logo - it had been granted use by sale in Rosmary Bravo’s time and caused problems keeping control of the identity and purity of the brand.
I love the Burberry check on kids -
